About the Practical Familiarisation and Assessment

The practical flight evaluation is a 3-hour mock evaluation. The instructor will go through all required flight profiles, assess the competency of the candidate and will recommend the next course of action. Candidates can expect to receive specific and actionable insights from instructors on how to improve for the final assessment.

The practical flight assessment is the final assessment in the process of attaining the UAPL. Candidates must demonstrate sufficient proficiency in the operation of small and large multi-rotor UAs up to 7kg in order to pass this flight assessment.


This course comprises 2 parts:

Practical Flight Evaluation 3h

– 1 mock evaluation: multi-rotor UAs (<15kg)3h

UAPL Practical Assessment1h
– 1 flight assessment by an Authorised Flight Examiner: multi-rotor UAs up to 7kg

Practical Flight Evaluation comprises of the Mock Practical Assessment of a small multi-rotor UA (weighing less than 15kg) The practical flight evaluation is conducted as a mock practical assessment and also serves to familiarise the trainee with the procedures of the UAPL Practical Assessment.
