Course code: UT03
About this course
This course prepares existing holders of a Class A (Rotorcraft) UAPL, limited to multi-rotor up to 7kg only, to remove the weight limitation from their UAPL.
The course comprises 2 parts:
Practical Training (2 modules)6h
– 2 modules: large multi-rotor UA (>15kg)3h each
UAPL Proficiency Check1.5h
– 1 proficiency check to remove limitation from Class A (Rotorcraft) UAPL limited to multi-rotor up to 7kg only. The proficiency check will be conducted by an Authorised Flight Examiner to determine the candidate's proficiency in operating small and large multi-rotor UAs up to 25kg
Trainees underaking this practical training programme can expect to log 1.25 flight hours.

What you will learn
Practical training is divided in two phases:
- Mock evaluation to demonstrate proficiency in operating small multi-rotor UAs + Operation of a large multi-rotor UA (weighing at least 15kg)
- Operation of a large multi-rotor UA (weighing at least 15kg)
Proficiency in small multi-rotor UA operation must be demonstrated through a practical flight evaluation before training in large multi-rotor UA operation can proceed. The practical flight evaluation is conducted as a mock practical assessment and also serves to familiarize the trainee with the procedures for the UAPL Practical Assessment.
Large multi-rotor UA
|Training Module 1||P011.E1||Mock Evaluation|
|P011.01||Full Circuit and Orientation Revision|
|Training Module 2||P011.02||Full Circuit and Orientation Revision|
Objective: Removal of limitation from Class A (Rotorcraft) UAPL limited to UA up to 7kg.
|Flight Assessment||A002.01||Class A (Rotorcraft) UAPL Proficiency Check - Operation of a small multi-rotor UA weighing less than 15kg|
|Flight Assessment||A002.02||Class A (Rotorcraft) UAPL Proficiency Check - Operation of a large multi-rotor UA weighing at least 15kg|
Existing holders of a Class A (Rotorcraft) UAPL, limited to multi-rotor up to 7kg only. Those who do not have access to a large multi-rotor UA for training will be able to train with us and attain their Class A (Rotorcraft) UAPL, limited to multi-rotor up to 25kg only, by the end of the course.
Note: Trainees who wish to enrol in this programme must ensure that they have a valid Class A (Rotorcraft) UAPL, limited to multi-rotor up to 7kg only.
