About this course

This course prepares existing holders of a Class A (Rotorcraft) UAPL limited to multi-rotor only, to safely operate a helicopter UA and to remove the multi-rotor limitation from their UAPL.

The course comprises of 3 parts:

Simulator Training (4 modules)12h

– 4 simulator modules: Helicopter UA3h each

Practical Training (7 modules)21h

– 6 practical modules: Helicopter UA operation3h each

– 1 mock evaluation: Helicopter UA proficiency3h

UAPL Proficiency Check1h

– 1 proficiency check to remove limitation from Class A (Rotorcraft) UAPL limited to multi-rotor only. The proficiency check will be conducted by an Authorised Flight Examiner to determine the candidate's proficiency in operating helicopter UA.

Trainees undertaking this practical training programme can expect to log 5.5 flight hours.

What you will learn

Trainees will have hands-on training with our instructors during the on-site training and will be provided with training materials and a copy of a simulator to be brought home for home-base learning.

Trainees are required to pass a simulated mock evaluation on the last simulator session before they are allowed to proceed to their practical modules.

Existing holders of a Class A (Rotorcraft) UAPL, limited to multi-rotor only who need to remove the multi-rotor limitation from their UAPL.
UA pilots who aspire to be a UA instructor.

Note: Trainees who wish to enrol in this programme must ensure that they possess at least a valid Class A (Rotorcraft) UAPL, limited to multi-rotor only.
